An end to marriage

THE decision to extend civil partnerships to heterosexual couples will ultimately lead to men curtailing any relationship before it can be regarded as being a long-term union. Insecurity and mistrust are the reasons why men have shied away from marriage.

They believe they have the most to lose if their marriage breaks down and their assets have to be divided according to the decisions of a courtroom judge.
