Goldman expands

GOLDMAN Sachs is opening its first UK office outside London as the Wall Street giant looks to double the workforce supporting the growth of its online bank brand Marcus.

An office in Milton Keynes will be a call centre housing 150 staff and will open next summer. It will mean doubling the staff base for Marcus in the UK, after Goldman recruited 150 for its London base.

The team there includes 100 management, IT and product development staff and 50 call centre workers.

Marcus has attracted over 50,000 UK account holders in the two weeks since its launch.
