Has Catherine Zeta ever looked sweeter?
IT was a day for father and son to hog the limelight – but the supporting actress still drew her fair share of attention.
Michael Douglas was on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to see his star unveiled.
It is only a few feet away from the one honouring his father Kirk – who appropriately was there to witness the ceremony.
So too was Michael’s Welsh actress wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, 49, with whom he has children Dylan, 18, and Carys, 15. She looked stunning in a figure-hugging offthe-shoulder polka dot black and white dress.
A month short of his 102nd birthday but still going strong, Kirk Douglas greeted Michael with a kiss and looked on proudly from his wheelchair as his eldest son – a relative spring chicken at 74 – received the honour.
Douglas junior, whose films include Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct, Wall Street and Romancing The Stone, is the 2,648th recipient of a star since the completion of the Walk of Fame. He is perhaps better known to younger film– goers for his portrayal of physicist Hank Pym in Ant-Man and is about to be seen on the new Netflix comedy The Kominsky Method.
A speech in his honour was given by Jane Fonda, his co-star in the 1979 nuclear meltdown drama The China Syndrome. Kirk Douglas, whose films included Spartacus, Lust For Life and Seven Days In May, was among the first 1,558 celebrities honoured with a stone and brass star when the Walk of Fame was opened in 1961.
