Kane appoints big brother as his manager
HARRY KANE has made his representation a family affair by appointing brother Charlie as his manager, Sportsmail can reveal.
The England captain’s older sibling has been involved with Kane’s career from the beginning and has now registered as an intermediary to manage his football and commercial affairs.
A private limited company called CK66 was formed in August this year, with Charlie as director, to look after Kane’s career.
The new arrangement is said to be the natural next move given the 25-year-old’s continuing prominence for club and country and the huge earning potential that entails. CK66 aims to maximise the sponsorship opportunities open to a player of Kane’s global pull. He has nearly 10 million combined followers on Instagram and Twitter.
Charlie, 29, was heavily involved in negotiating Kane’s new six-year contract with Spurs, which the World Cup Golden Boot winner signed in June.
A holding page for the CK66 website says the company will handle contract negotiations, commercial opportunities, brand building, career guidance and future planning. It will also guide Kane’s charity contributions and campaigns.
Kane starred in the Nou Camp as Spurs progressed to the last 16 of the Champions League. He laid on Lucas Moura’s 85th- minute equaliser and has now had a hand in 16 goals in his 16 appearances in the competition, scoring 13 times himself.
Meanwhile, Kane is the favourite with bookmakers for this year’s Sports Personality of the Year award, which will be presented at Birmingham’s Genting Arena on Sunday.
Others in the running, Tyson Fury, Dina Asher- Smith and Geraint Thomas will all be at the BBC ceremony on Sunday with nominees for the big prize still under wraps.
The BBC are keeping this year’s nominations for the main award a secret until the night — so much so that sources in Fury’s camp claim he is in the dark over whether he is up for it.
England captain Kane is the 6-4 favourite with the bookmakers.
Lewis Hamilton, fresh from winning his fifth Formula One World Championship, is still mulling over whether to attend after initially planning to stay away.
