Glenn is heavily criticised for his handling of the Mark Sampson controversy. The England women’s manager is accused of bullying, racist and discriminatory behaviour. Sampson is eventually sacked.

Eni Aluko, who claimed Sampson made a racist comment to her, accuses Glenn of trying to ‘blackmail’ her into making a statement that the FA is not institutionally racist.

England’s Under 17s come from 2-0 down to beat Spain 5-2 and win the World Cup in India.

Glenn is forced to apologise after comparing the Star of David with the Nazi swastika.

Southgate leads England to the semi-final of the World Cup in Russia.
