BBC Three back ... on BBC One
THE BBC has cut the News at Ten by five minutes to make room for BBC Three shows.
The move follows Ofcom’s warning that the broadcaster is not doing enough to pull in younger viewers – and comes three years after BBC Three vanished from TV listings and went online-only to cut costs.
From March , a new schedule will see youth-friendly BBC Three programmes run from Monday to Wednesday after the News at Ten ends. Regional news and national and regional weather will also be trimmed, meaning the new end time for the news segment will be 10.35pm.
The BBC said ‘more in-depth news and analysis’ is on BBC2’s Newsnight.
