Brexit grief advice – for civil servants!

-

CIVIL servants have been issued with advice on how to cope with grief caused by Brexit.

The ‘Toolkit for staff during EU Exit’ is designed to help officials struggling with the emotional consequences of leaving the European Union.

Across 13 pages, it advises staff at the Department for Health and Social Care that they should seek to understand their ‘reactions to change’ and to develop ‘personal resilience’. At one point, the document urges officials to ‘kill your Automated Negative Thoughts (ANTS)’.

Tory MP Andrew Bridgen said: ‘Forty-seven years of having our sovereignty eroded by the EU has clearly hollowed out the confidence and courage of our Civil Service.’

A spokesman for the department said: ‘It is normal practice for organisations to issue advice to staff... during times of change.’
