Warm-weather break scrapped

- CHRIS WHEELER

MaNCHeSTer UNITeD have scrapped plans for a warm- weather training camp aimed at breaking up a crucial run of fixtures.

Caretaker boss ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who took his squad to Dubai last month, was hoping to go away to Spain or Portugal after Monday’s Fa Cup fifth-round tie with Chelsea to prepare for liverpool’s visit to old Trafford a week on Sunday.

after playing Crystal Palace and Southampton, United then face the second leg of their Champions league knockout tie with Paris Saint-Germain.

But Solskjaer reluctantly accepted that it is not feasible to go away again and will work at Carrington instead.

as United attempt to make it 11 wins out of 12 under the new manager against PSG, anthony Martial praised the attacking style favoured by Solskjaer.

‘We have got a coach who has different intentions and we are trying to do what he asks,’ said the Paris-born winger. ‘Perhaps it is easier to play this style of football and not the style of football he (jose Mourinho) asked.’

‘He is asking me to attack more — that is my job after all,’ added Martial, 23.

Meanwhile, captain ashley Young has signed a one-year contract extension.
