Don’t let the trolls get to you, Meghan

-

I’M SO glad friends of the Duchess of Sussex are leaping to her defence, with George Clooney saying she’s being vilified like Princess Diana. It’s uncomfortable seeing how Meghan has been treated since becoming part of the Royal Family. She has done nothing wrong except distance herself from relatives she never engaged with before she was royal and who do nothing but put her down, and plead with her dad for a truce and some fatherly loyalty. Meghan, just focus on your marriage and all the excitement and happiness to come with your new baby. You’re doing a great job.

DIANE SILVA, Bournemouth, Dorset. STOP taking potshots at Meghan and her supposed profligacy in wearing expensive outfits to public events. The Queen Mother was accused of being too ‘dressy’ when visiting East Enders in their bombed-out homes during the war. Her answer was that, in her view, they would expect nothing less of their Queen, and her appearances and concern were morale-boosters. Like Megan today, she was right not to dress down.

N. MASON, Kendal, Cumbria. SINCE she married into the Royal Family, why has Meghan gone overboard on expensive, frumpy clothes she mistakenly thinks are elegant? She’s beginning to look like Harry’s second granny. She should get back to her boho look because trying to be posh doesn’t suit her free spirit. Instead of designer dresses that look like ill-fitting tea cosies, she should return to her wardrobe of ripped jeans, an oversized coat and beanie hat. That was the look Harry fell in love with.

BEVERLEY YOUNG, address supplied. MEGHAN should visit her father, who has a heart problem. She will regret not seeing him one day.

GILL HARGOVE, Plymouth, Devon. I DO wish Meghan would wash her dirty linen in private.

J. M. HURRELL, Ashford, Kent.
