ThE recently deceased Lee Radziwill, best known (to her regret) as Jackie Kennedy’s younger sister, married first husband Michael Canfield believing he was royal. Publisher Canfield was rumoured to be the illegitimate son of Prince George of Kent, the fourth son of King George v. Lee finally became a princess by marrying Prince stanislaw ‘stash’ Radziwill, the scion of a princely Polish-Lithuanian house. Considered a grande horizontale of the international scene, her wide variety of admirers included bisexual Russian ballet star Rudolf Nureyev and social-climbing Welsh-born politician Roy Jenkins. APPEARING with other Labour MPs ditching the party, Chuka Umunna mentioned their new website, cheekily adding of striking fellow defector Luciana Berger MP: ‘If I haven’t got that right, Luciana will discipline me!’ They used to be a romantic item before splitting mysteriously in 2011 after a holiday in Ibiza. Both later married. EMERITUs professor of pure mathematics Robin Wilson and his wife, Joy, host an evening of reminisces about life with his father, the late Labour PM harold Wilson, on March 27 at salisbury Museum. ‘Robin and Joy have very kindly agreed to give this talk in support of Arundells,’ invitees are told. how interesting. Arundells is the former home of ex-Tory PM Edward heath, who defeated Wilson in the 1970 election. JEREMY Clarkson, 58, tweets to fans: ‘For no particular reason, I think the Scotland film in this week’s The Grand Tour is quite good.’ How intriguing. The presenter, pictured, admits: ‘There are a couple ( of shows) in this run that should have been better.’ Certainly their jokes seem less amusing and the childish trio (Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May) have aged noticeably. Clarkson’s Amazon pay package – reportedly £10million a year – must be a consolation. ThE Duchess of sussex’s backing of a campaign to ‘decolonise’ university curriculums is awkward for the Queen. hM has 15 other thrones and prime ministers. Perhaps Meghan will appreciate eventually that her new family has realms from Canada to Australia, from the Caribbean to the Pacific. NOTING veteran Labour MP Paul Flynn’s death aged 84, Channel 4’s well-informed political correspondent Michael Crick reports: ‘Paul Flynn – a great maverick – was the 24th Labour MP to die in office since the spring of 2000. Astonishingly, in the same 19-year period only one Conservative MP has died in office – Eric Forth in 2006.’ Fancy that. ThE Rt hon harriet harman MP will give the third Tony Benn Memorial Lecture on March 12 at the speaker’s house. ‘seats are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis,’ says John Bercow’s ‘trainbearer’ Jim Davey. I’m not surprised. Ms harman was not admired by Benn. he regarded her as a Blairite. however, the gig may assist her campaign to succeed Bercow as speaker.
