There, he’s dared by his boss Troy (Noel Clarke) into trying to sign a group of shanty singing fishermen, led by Jim (James Purefoy). danny becomes the ultimate ‘fish out of water’ as he struggles to gain the respect of the unlikely boy band and their families, who value friendship and community over fame and fortune. as he’s drawn into their way of life, he’s forced to re-evaluate his own goals and question what success really means. also starring Tuppence Middleton, david Hayman and dave Johns, Fisherman’s Friends was shot in Cornwall and comes from director Chris Foggin (Kids In Love) and writers Nick Moorcroft, Meg Leonard (both Finding Your Feet) and Piers ashworth (st Trinians).
