Help was yards away

-

JUST how agonisingly close Louella Fletcher- Michie was to medical care as she lay dying became clear last night.

Newly-released images reveal how her callous boyfriend Ceon Broughton falsely claimed they were lost in dense undergrowth.

In fact, the boundary of the Bestival music festival, and a hospital tent, lay just a few hundred yards away.

The drone footage, released by Dorset Police, shows the spot in woodland where Miss Fletcher-Michie began to overdose after being led there by her boyfriend.

The camera then scans round to show the location of the nearby medical tent, which the court heard was a mere 400yards away.

Police also released two other images previously shown to the jury showing the point where Miss Fletcher-Michie was found.

The images directly contradict Broughton’s account of being badly lost in impenetrable woods.

Festival worker Craig Welsh had told the trial that Miss Fletcher-Michie’s corpse was just a minute’s run from a well-lit part of the festival site.

Mr Welsh told jurors after making the grim discovery, he ran to get help, explaining that he could see which way to go because ‘there was a light just a couple of hundred yards away’.

‘I didn’t know where I was on the festival site when I got there,’ he said.

‘I spoke to another member of security staff and went back to her, it took about a minute to get back.’
