Should Britain now think again on the case of Shamima Begum?

-

WHILE I feel very sorry for the death of Shamima Begum’s innocent baby and understand her sadness at her loss, does she not realise that all the people ISIS murdered, at Manchester Arena for instance, and those they beheaded, were someone’s babies, too?

Phil Johns, Truro, Cornwall. The death of Shamima Begum’s baby should not ever be blamed on home Secretary Sajid Javid. It makes my blood boil when people exploit the death of a child to ‘have a go’ at someone who is trying to keep our country safe, for their own agendas. So many questions can be asked, as if the young lady had children die of malnutrition, how is it that she looks well-fed and healthy? Whichever way you look at it, nothing seems to add up. I may be wrong, but she doesn’t come over to me as a martyr.

May hall, sheffield, yorks.

SHAMIMA Begum is responsible for her own actions, nobody else. If the socalled ‘Caliphate’ had been

successful she would not be asking to return to the UK. I only hope that lawyers do not overturn the decision.

Scott Freeman, Falmouth, Cornwall. When Sajid Javid was made home Secretary, was part of his remit infanticide? After all, he is directly responsible for the death of baby Jarrah Begum. I was going to ask whether he could ever sleep at night with an innocent’s blood on his hands, mingling with the tears of a grieving mother. But hey presto! Yet more ex cathedra pronouncements from him, depriving two more mothers of their UK citizenship and human rights. Does anyone in the Cabinet have an iota of a conscience?

peter browne, Buckfastleigh, Devon.

I AM very sorry that Shamima Begum’s son Jarrah has died. Shamima says her baby was precious to her. What about the children killed and injured in the Manchester Arena bombing, which Shamima says was justified? Those children and adults were precious to their families. People need to wake up. Terrorists need to be dealt with whatever their age or gender, and stopped at all costs, not wrapped in cotton wool.

Mrs ruth Jackson, Derby. I Feel desperately sad for Shamima. I have been praying she will be comforted in this awful position she is in. But she has betrayed her country in an appalling manner and she is a danger to our security. Of course the Labour Party will make capital of it, but our home Secretary has my support. M. J. Boutell, St leonards-on-Sea. e. Sussex. A CHURCH of England bishop calls Sajid Javid a moral coward on the Shamima Begum case. It has been discovered that ISIS wives whipped Yazidi girl slaves with electric flex as punishments. When we are handing out our sympathy in this world, we need to be careful we are not handing it to the Devil. p. Birtles, Cheadle, Cheshire.
