Diana’s niece laments pressure of social media ... while finding time to get 455k Instagram fans!

SHE regularly posts images of an enviable glamour-filled lifestyle and has amassed a large following of 455,000 on Instagram.

Now, however, Lady Kitty Spencer has publicly criticised social media for piling on the pressure to have a perfect, busy lifestyle.

The niece of Diana, Princess of Wales said sites like Instagram sell a ‘grey area between fantasy and reality’. But the 28-year-old model insisted she ignores advice to win more followers with backup pictures to cover quiet spells.

‘It’s crazy,’ she declared. ‘I’m not living my life like that – never have, never will! I post what I want, when I want.’

Lady Kitty, the daughter of Diana’s brother Earl Spencer, told Harper’s Bazaar: ‘ Social media represents a grey area between fantasy and reality.

‘Many professional influencers and people with large followings have plenty of “back up content” that they post on days when they are doing nothing.

‘They are prepared for the inevitable “off day”, whether that’s a bad hair day or a day off between projects that consists of time with family or a Netflix binge.

‘It looks as though every day is as glamorous as the next, which can be misleading and disheartening to women who believe it’s all happening in real time.’

She made her comments to the upmarket magazine in which she featured when just a baby in a cover image with her mother Victoria Aitken in 1992.

Lady Kitty, a brand ambassador for Italian fashion house Bulgari, described herself as a feminist ‘opposed to all forms of discrimination’. She added that earning money ‘symbolises her independence’ despite her father’s reported £116million fortune.
