LAMPARD’S DERBY MADE TO WAIT
FRaNK LaMPaRd says he will enjoy derby’s date with destiny on sunday, even though he will rue this draw. The Rams manager knows his team are in the driving seat to claim sixth place and the last Championship play-off spot. But by allowing Wayne Routledge to equalise after Richard Keogh’s powerful header had given derby a firsthalf lead, the door has been left open to Middlesbrough and Bristol City. derby must beat West Brom at home in their final game, otherwise they could be overtaken by either team. ‘I’m disappointed we didn’t get the win and more goals in the first half, but I’m excited we’re in this position and we should be proud of it,’ said Lampard. ‘This is why I came into it. It consumes your life, but I love it. I enjoy every y minute of it and I want to be successful.’ Keogh suffered a groin injury and the possible absence of the derby captain could be a crucial factor. He limped off after Routledge equalised in the 66th minute and without his organisation, derby wobbled. Lampard (above) admitted: ‘It will be a blow if we’re without him and centre back has been an issue for us all season. ‘But sunday will be a time for calmness and keeping our focus. We know what the job is, it’s in our hands and if you had offere offered me that eight mo months ago I would have ta taken it.’ s swansea manager graham Potter said: ‘derby are a good team and you can see why they should be in th the play-offs. Frank has done don a fantastic job and I wish them well, but the beauty b t of this championship is it’s a fool’s game to try to predict what will happen.’
