SHE’S been filming scenes as Princess Margaret, playing the 45-year-old royal when she was having a fling with her toyboy lover Roddy Llewellyn, 28.
And if Helena Bonham Carter needed to do any research on age-gap relationships, she didn’t have far to look.
The British actress, who turned 5 yesterday, put on a very public display of affection with her 2-year- old boyfriend during a relaxed day out in New York on Saturday.
At one point she threw her arms around Rye Dag Holmboe’s neck and looked lovingly into his eyes as they waited at a pedestrian crossing.
At other times they shared a passionate kiss and strolled arm in arm. They visited a number of shops as well as the Museum of Sex, before finishing their day with a meal at a cafe.
Miss Bonham Carter, who was dressed in her typically flamboyant style, plays Princess Margaret in the forthcoming third series of The Crown.
Last year she shot scenes with actor Harry Treadaway, 4, who plays Llewellyn in the Netflix series. The pair were seen reenacting photos of them kissing while the princess was still married to Lord Snowdon.
Miss Bonham Carter had a famously unconventional 1 - year relationship with American film director Tim Burton which ended in 2014. The pair lived in two adjourning houses in London during their relationship.
The actress is thought to have struck up a relationship with writer and academic Holmboe last summer after meeting at the wedding of a mutual friend.
