BROKEN BOND AND THE CURSE OF 007

- By Dominique Hines

AFTER an explosion shook the set, the film’s director quit and the leading man was left injured, it seems this James Bond offering has already had its fair share of drama.

Now filming is said to be facing further delays as Daniel Craig, 51, was spotted hobbling through New York’s JFK airport sporting a cumbersome ankle support and crutches.

He slipped and fell while filming an action sequence in Jamaica, and was forced to fly to the US for treatment.

The father- of- two was pictured on crutches wearing a Liverpool FC hat days after an explosion on set which injured a crew member. By the time Craig is expected to Schedule clash: Rami Malek have recovered, Oscar-winner Rami Malek, 38 – who plays the villain – has other filming commitments.

Insiders said producers are struggling to find a date for the actors to film together for the 25th instalment of the spy franchise. They added: ‘You can’t have a Bond film where 007 doesn’t come face to face with the villain so it’s a complete nightmare logistically.’

Three explosions ripped through the set at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire last week when a stunt went wrong, injuring one staff member. The next day, the set was said to have been by Health and Safety inspectors.

Other delays have been caused by a script rewrite and a new director being brought in when Danny Boyle dramatically quit over ‘creative differences’ in March.

The film is set to be released on April 3, 2020 – after twice being delayed from the original release date of October 25 this year.
