MONSTER OF DISGUISE
Police release 6 e-fits of on-run killer who keeps changing his look
POLICE hunting a missing murderer have released six e-fit images of him because he is a master of disguise.
They are trying to trace Joseph Bagley, 66, who was freed on a supervised licence in January but failed to turn up for a curfew appointment on Sunday.
He was jailed for life with a minimum term of 20 years in 1978 for the murder of taxi driver Timothy Hall in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
But after going on the run from jail during a supervised day out in 1994 he ended up staying inside for 41 years .
He had been living in Maidstone, Kent, before his disappearance.
Police expect him to have changed his appearance and have issued an artist’s impression of six possible disguises, showing Bagley with long, medium and no hair, and with and without glasses.
He has links to Kent, Surrey, Buckinghamshire and Scotland and is described as white with blue eyes and grey hair, around 5ft 11in tall and of medium build.
Detective Inspector Mark Parry said: ‘We believe there to be a strong chance that Joseph Bagley has altered his appearance.
‘The images are a forensic artist’s impressions of what he might look like. We believe that this gives the public a variation of his potential appearance.’
Anyone who spots him has been warned not approach Bagley.
Det Insp Parry said: ‘I believe that he could lash out if he feels threatened, or that he is going to be returned to prison.’
In 1994 he fled from an escorted visit to an elderly relative in Woking, Surrey, and was not recaptured for more than a month.
