-

RUGBY LEAGUE

THE RFL and Super League say they are ‘appalled’ after the game between Catalans Dragons and Warrington Wolves ended in brawls on the pitch and in the stands. Warrington lost 30-10 in Perpignan, with three players sent off after the match — Catalans duo Sam Tomkins and Michael McIlorum and Warrington’s Jake Mamo. In a statement issued jointly by the RFL and Super League, they said: ‘An investigation will be launched. ‘The scenes are alien to Super League and have no place in our game. We will be taking firm action to make it clear this behaviour is totally unacceptable.’ Bernard Guasch, the Dragons chairman, said: ‘We are shocked at what happened.’
