Romancing The Stone, 6.55pm, Film4 A RIPPING yarn from Robert Zemeckis, with echoes of Indiana Jones and classic screwball comedies. Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas steam up as the snippy pair having a vine-swinging adventure in the Colombian jungle. Danny DeVito co-stars.

FOOTBALL

Lincoln City v Everton, 7.30pm, Sky Football & Main Event CAN League One Lincoln pull off an upset at Sincil Bank in this League Cup second-round tie. Only a goal separated the sides when they met at Goodison Park in last season’s FA Cup, with Ademola Lookman and Bernard finding the net for the Toffees in a 2-1 victory.

FANTASY TALE

Outlander, 9pm, More4 JAMIE and Claire return to his family home of Lallybroch, where the welcome is not as warm as they might have hoped — partly because the people there know them well enough to smell the lie in the stories they weave to cover up Claire’s timetravel­ling. There’s some unusually foul language in tonight’s episode.

EIGHTIES DRAMA

Widows, 9pm, Talking Pictures TV LYNDA LA PLANTE’S 1983 TV drama tells the tale of tough-asnails widows of London crooks, and still stands up well. EastEnders’ Ann Mitchell (pictured below right with Fiona Hendley and Eva Mottley)y) playspy Dolly y RawlinsRaw­lins, who bands together with the other women to pull off the heist their husbands couldn’t. This is the first of a weekly repeat.

RUBBISH DOCUMENTAR­Y

The Secret Life Of Landfill, 9pm, BBC4 YOU wouldn’t expect a documentar­y about rubbish to be so interestin­g, but this dive into how our landfills are made, and what past generation­s considered not worth keeping, was an education and a minor hit for BBC4. Here’s another chance to learn about this surprising world.

TRAVEL WOES

Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier, 10pm, Dave THE theme in the penultimat­e episode is holidays, and joining Jon to discuss related worries are the comics Tom Allen, Rosie Jones and Matt Forde. This leads them to ponderonde­r the dangers of ending up in prison while away, and Allen can see some appeal: ‘Maybe I could learn a language.’

HAVES & HAVE NOTS

Wife Swap USA, 10pm, E4 ‘RICH people are just really fun,’ enthuses young Molly in this new episode as wealthy Melinda Muffley sweeps into the life of the eightyear-old’s family, the McCormicks, a clan of seven who live a simple life on a converted school bus. Meanwhile, McCormick matriarch Kirsten helps the Muffleys’ dad to bond with his daughter.

MARINE MARVELS

World’s Biggest Shipbuilde­rs, 10pm, Discovery THE first of a new series tracks two projects at shipyards in South Korea — giant tanker the Maersk Tangier and the XLE-4, the world’s biggest ‘jack-up’ oil drilling rig. The show goes into great detail about both builds, but before either can begin, the traditiona­l rice cake ceremony must be observed.
