Phones made easier

-

SMART PHONES — modern mobile phones that can do everything from browsing the web to making video calls, taking pictures and sending texts — are amazing things.

You can use them almost anywhere, whether on the sofa or travelling on a train.

But it’s not always obvious how to make them do what you want, or you might not be aware of the things your phone can do for you.

And friends aren’t often very good at explaining! Meanwhile, manuals tend to be either too brief or hidden away as an ebook on the device itself.

That’s where a new book, in two versions, comes in — iPhones One Step At A Time and Android Phones One Step At A Time.

This guide is proving hugely popular with all sorts of people who have a smartphone, but aren’t expert at using it.

Whether you are frustrated with the very basics, or wish you knew how to do some of the slightly fancier things, it might be just what you need.

It explains everything in plain English, without jargon, and has lots of pictures that show exactly what to do — where to tap the screen, and so on.

The company behind the guide has already published books about computers and tablets that have helped thousands of people. But it actually started much smaller.

Author Tim Wakeling wrote some notes to help his mum and dad with their PC and realised that other people might find them useful, too.

Several thousand happy people later, he decided to bring out this book on smartphones as well.

If you have ever been frustrated with your phone, it’s worth finding out more by ordering a free information pack explaining what’s covered in the books, who they are suitable for and how to get hold of one.
