HUDSON-ODOI MEGA DEAL WORTH £180,000 A WEEK

CALLUM HUdson-odoi has become one of the world’s best-paid teenagers after signing a new £50million contract. As Sportsmail revealed in July, the 18-year-old has agreed to stay at stamford Bridge for the next five years — in a deal worth £180,000 a week. Hudson-odoi is on the verge of making his first-team return after recovering from the achilles tendon injury that has kept him sidelined since April. The new contract marks a remarkable turnaround in Hudson-odoi’s career since the turn of 2019. The teenager wanted to move to Bayern Munich, who saw several offers to land the forward rejected by Chelsea. Bayern were also willing to offer Hudson-odoi a contract worth £200,000 a week. it left the Blues at risk of losing their wonderkid on a free transfer, because his previous deal was due to expire next summer. But the landscape at Chelsea has changed significan­tly since January. Maurizio sarri, who Hudson-odoi did not see a future under, has left and club legend Frank Lampard is now in charge. importantl­y, Lampard has shown he is prepared to rely heavily on the club’s academy stars — with Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori all regulars in the side this season. And Hudson-odoi has now agreed to be part of Lampard’s exciting young side, news which provides Chelsea with a huge boost. The club have already earmarked Hudson-odoi as their next no 10 as they look to transform the youngster into their global poster boy following Eden Hazard’s exit. The Blues will now focus on tying up contracts for fellow academy graduates Abraham, Tomori and Reece James.
