Defying the voters

-

doeS anyone really think Britain will get out of the eu? Let’s face it, the British ‘establishment’, BBC, house of Lords, most MPs, most judges, don’t want it to happen and they seem to think it should be abandoned, to hell with the people.

Most of all the eu itself doesn’t want Britain to leave as it doesn’t want to lose the funding Britain provides as well as being an obedient member carrying out all the commission’s demands without question.

The so-called eu negotiators will never agree to a ‘deal’ suggested by Britain and keep granting extensions for ever, to ensure the money keeps rolling in to their coffers.

Many Britons, MPs especially, do not seem capable of differentiating between a referendum and a regular parliamentary election. In the case of the latter we elect a representative who belongs to a party which we think, and hope, will, if in government, do what’s best for Britain.

A referendum, on the other hand, is a ‘national’ event where we the people expect the government to carry out the wishes of the majority who have answered a simple question

with a Yes or No or, in this case, remain or Leave.

the wishes of individual MPs are irrelevant. Just because the result is not what an MP wished for, they should realise that they have no right to defy the wishes of the people.

J. LUXON, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. HOW on earth can the words ‘surrender’, ‘capitulation’ and ‘ humbug’ be classed as incorrect language?

When one side (remainers) assure the other side (Europe) that we won’t leave with no deal, it surrender, it capitulation, it is tying the hands of our negotiators who will then have nothing to bargain with.

We are in grave danger of becoming an undemocratic third World country.

C. QUARRIE, Maghull, Merseyside.
