It’s high time we voted out the dead wood MPs
WE ARE all aware of — and appalled by — the disgraceful conduct of MPs in not representing the will of the people. I consider the main problem to be fear of change. These politicians have been used to an easy ride for many years, and the idea of having to govern again and actually get off their backsides to work fills them with dread. The majority are second or third-raters quite happy to collect their monthly payout — plus an obscene amount of ‘expenses’ — for their time in the job, but have very little to show for their performance throughout. These people are the ‘dead wood’, the ‘hangers-on’, the ‘clock-watchers’, the ‘lame and the lazy’. Yes, we know who they are and, if they were honest enough about it, they know which category they fit into, along with ‘no significant contribution achieved’. They cannot make their own decisions, so following their party line removes the pressure and responsibility to think. Hence, it seems appropriate to keep up the objections to anything forwarded, irrespective of what it is to delay and frustrate any progress to improve the UK’s position. This is not a game. It takes a lot to get me rattled, but the people have had enough. A general election will certainly punish those political incumbents who are not prepared to represent us. Simply writing to the papers will not work. These politicians see it as having a laugh at our expense and consider themselves to be untouchable. As a matter of urgency, a general election —
not another referendum — is required to start the ball rolling to rid Parliament of these ‘politicians’ who have totally lost the plot in representing constituents. Remember that bad politicians are elected by good citizens who do not vote!
