Fit for purpose
FURTHER to ron spraggon’s comments regarding the clear-out of ‘dead wood MPS’ (Letters), might I suggest we consider a new parliament building that is fit for purpose.
I appreciate the affection for the current glorious Victorian edifice, which is worthy of saving as a museum, but it was constructed for the political climate of a different era and I believe contributes to confrontational and raucous behaviour.
It is in dire need of repair and modernisation at a cost estimated at billions, so why not take the opportunity following Brexit to embark on a new political era in a fully functional parliament building to match the best in the world.
we might then attract the calibre of MPS we need.
