Heads must roll

-

WHAT strange priorities. A Navy commodore is relieved of the command of an aircraft carrier for using an official car at weekends, when a slap on the wrist would have sufficed. It didn’t really hurt anyone, did it?

Meanwhile, senior police officers involved in the ‘ investigation’ into abuse allegations against prominent figures are still in office.

This case was pursued with vigour against all rational thought, causing untold damage to innocent victims.

The senior officer in charge, Steve Rodhouse, offers an apology, but states he will not resign. Scotland Yard chief Cressida Dick has defended the officers under her command. I don’t suppose she can do otherwise without admitting liability. Will no one fall on their sword?
