Viewers’ phone ‘fix’ fury as DJ Dev is booted off
VIEWERS last night accused Strictly of fixing the result after Dev Griffin was eliminated from the show.
Fans said they could not vote on Saturday to stop the Radio 1 DJ and his partner Dianne Buswell going into last night’s dance-off because of problems with phone lines.
Following the meltdown, one fan wrote on Twitter: ‘Strictly is a fix! What a joke.’ Another said:
‘If Dev and Di are out this week it’s because of the unfair scoring + phone line not working.’
Griffin, 4, last night became the third celebrity to leave this year’s series. In the dance-off, judges voted to save aristocrat Emma Weymouth. The official Strictly Twitter account blamed a ‘high volume’ of calls.
A show spokesman said: ‘The phone line blockages impacted all contestants equally.’
