Poor old thing! Jane Seymour, 68, ‘can’t land mature roles as she looks too youthful’

MANY actresses complain about the constant pressure to look young in age-obsessed Hollywood.

But Jane Seymour, 68, apparently has the opposite problem – with movie-makers telling her she appears too youthful to play older roles.

The former Bond girl, who regularly posts photos of her bikini body on Instagram, said she has had to convince producers that she can do ‘old and gnarly’. ‘I’ll take all my make-up off and they’ll see I can do “old” quite well,’ she told Hello! magazine. The star, who posed in a vivid orange frock for a photoshoot, added: ‘My intention is to age as gracefully as I can. Inside, I’m 20 years old. I was way too serious when I was that age. I’ve found my 20-year-old alter ego, it just happens to be in this body.’

Miss Seymour, who has admitted to cosmetic surgery in the past, puts her youthful looks down to pilates, walking and light weightlifting as well as a healthy diet. ‘I try to stay away from sugar and fried food,’ she said. ‘I very rarely eat meat. I eat what I grow in my garden. Fresh fruits and vegetables are my favourite thing in the world.’

The actress, who was in her mid-20s when she made 1977’s Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, said a ‘naughty night’ meant ‘a handful of pistachios, two pieces of very dark chocolate and a glass of wine’.

Four-times-divorced Miss Seymour, who is in a relationship with 70-year-old British director David Green, insists she won’t be tying the knot for a fifth time. ‘I’ve been there, done that,’ she said.
