Humphrys hails the Mail

JOHN Humphrys has praised the Daily Mail for its groundbreaking campaigning journalism.

In an interview with the Observer yesterday, the former Radio 4 Today programme presenter (pictured) singled out this newspaper, saying: ‘Its campaigns around plastic or people with dementia are exemplary’. Only last week a petition signed by 356,000 Daily Mail readers was handed in to 10 Downing Street. It called on the Government to fix the broken system which forces countless pensioners to sell their homes to fund dementia care.
