HATS off to the Canada team who helped with the clean-up efforts in Kamaishi the morning after Typhoon Hagibis had wreaked havoc. With their Pool B match against Namibia called off, players took to the streets to shovel debris and mud from the roads. Captain Tyler Ardron said: ‘We’ve been hosted so well that we wanted to give back.’

RIVALRIES were put to one side at the Japanese Grand Prix as Springbok captain Siya Kolisi mixed with former England lock Simon Shaw and France flanker Serge Betsen in the Suzuka hospitality area. Kolisi also gave a Springbok jersey to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

WITH plenty of downtime after their Test against Italy was called off, the All Blacks met the NBA’s Houston Rockets in Toyko. The Rockets were in Japan as part of their NBA international series and took on Toronto Raptors.

ITV are set to re-jig their punditry line-up as Paul O’Connell, Brian O’Driscoll, Sir Clive Woodward and Lawrence Dallaglio fly out to Japan.
