Rank Group cashes in

SHARES in Mecca Bingo owner Rank Group rose after the company’s casinos business reported booming revenues.

The company, which owns the Grosvenor Casinos chain, said like-for-like net gaming revenues jumped 10pc in the quarter to September 30.

Casinos reported a 15pc jump in revenue driven by a significant increase in customer numbers. Digital revenues leapt 16pc.

However, the company said that revenue across its Mecca venues was flat for the quarter. Rank chief executive John O’Reilly said he was pleased by the progress. Shares rose 6.9pc, or 13.7p, to 212.5p.
