F1 splashdown at home of Miami Dolphins

- By JONATHAN McEVOY

FORMULA ONE bosses have agreed to stage a Miami Grand Prix from May 2021.

Sportsmail can reveal that the deal in principle is with Hard Rock Stadium — the multi-purpose home of the Dolphins NFL team north of the city. However, Miami-Dade County still need to approve the plans. The venue is a switch from the original proposed downtown site, which met objections. The race, if voted through, will instead be held mostly in the stadium and grounds. F1 commercial boss Sean Bratches said: ‘The GP will be an economic juggernaut for South Florida.’
