Are Turks using phosphorus?
TURKEY has been accused of illegally using white phosphorus against civilians in Syria.
Horrific injuries suffered by a 13-year-old Kurdish boy suggested that something worse than ordinary explosives were being dropped by Turkish forces, The Times reported.
The boy’s burns penetrated deep under his skin and when images were shown to British chemical weapons expert Hamish de Bretton-Gordon he suspected that white phosphorous was the cause.
He said: ‘In 24 hours I have been shown more photographs of these kinds of burns than at any recent stage in Syria’s war. White phosphorus is a horrific weapon.’
