ANGELINA Jolie poses in nothing but a sheer white sheet for a magazine photoshoot – as she bares all about the struggles of her turbulent past decade.
The actress says she bears the scars – ‘visible and invisible’ – of her split from Brad Pitt and her double mastectomy.
Miss Jolie, 44, is still going through a ‘complicated’ divorce from the Fight Club actor and had the surgery in 2013 to reduce her chances of getting the cancer which killed her mother and grandmother.
She said: ‘My body has been through a lot over the past decade, particularly the past four years, and I have both the visible and invisible scars to show for it.’
Seemingly referring to her split from Pitt, 55, she added: ‘The invisible ones are harder to wrestle with.
‘Life takes many turns. Sometimes you get hurt, you see those you love in pain, and you can’t be as free and open as your spirit desires.’
The Maleficent star said she is finally getting over her struggles, thanks to the support of her six children, who she shares with Pitt. ‘It’s not new or old, but I do feel the blood returning to my body,’ she told Harper’s Bazaar. ‘My children know my true self, and they have helped me to find it again and to embrace it.’
Miss Jolie hinted that divorce had been hard on their three biological children – Shiloh, 13, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 11 – and their three adopted children Maddox, 18, Pax, 15, and Zahara, 14.
‘They have been through a lot,’ she said. ‘I learn from their strength.
‘As parents, we encourage our kids to embrace all that they are, and all that they know in their hearts to be right, and they look back at us and want the same for us.’
She also suggested she wants to move from the US but won’t until the children are 18, adding: ‘Right now I’m having to base where their father chooses to live.’
Miss Jolie and Pitt separated in 2016 and the financial aspects of their divorce are still being dealt with, although they can officially call themselves single by law.
