Aged 15, and with the help of a PowerPoint presentati­on, Stone convinced her parents to let her move to LA. She said: ‘It’s nuts that they agreed to it. I don’t condone it. everybody should go through high school and graduate.’ nIGeL hAVeRS, 68. The english actor, star of chariots of Fire and coronation Street, is proud of maintainin­g his 30in waist by rarely eating lunch. Son of late Lord chancellor Sir Michael havers, he is also the godfather of comedian Jack Whitehall — being a close friend of his father — and wore a dinner jacket to Jack’s birth, having been called straight from a gentleman’s outfitter in chelsea.

GLenn FRey ( 1948- 2016). The guitarist and singer- songwriter from Detroit was co-founder of the eagles ( pictured with Glenn far right), who had hits with Take It easy and hotel california. Frey co-wrote the latter — saying the pressure of following up on its huge success led to the band’s breakdown. Bandmate Don henley said: ‘Glenn was the man who started it all. he was the spark plug, the man with the plan.’ JAMeS JoneS (1921-1977). The American novelist is best known for his debut novel From here To eternity, made into a 1953 film starring Burt Lancaster and Montgomery clift as u.S. soldiers. Jones had himself served in the u.S. army. he said: ‘I write about war because it’s the only metier I’ve ever had.’
