If you’re taken ill this festive season, you can be sure that we will do everything we can to help you get your treatment booked in at a time that suits you and support you on your road to recovery. With our Personal Health plan you can usually expect your planned treatment to take place in a private hospital from our Directory of Hospitals, or a private wing of an NHS hospital, depending on availability over the holiday period. You’ll be able to rest and recover in comfort, typically with your own en-suite facilities and TV. We know that this time of year is a time to spend with your loved ones, so if you’re recovering in one of our recognised facilities, you can relax knowing that you normally won’t have to worry about visiting restrictions. Which means your friends, family or a certain jolly man with a white beard and a red coat, can come to visit you whenever it suits. Should you need someone to talk to about your health concerns, we have a fabulous team of medical professionals at the end of a phone or via email to discuss your concerns with. Our Health at Hand team is available 24/7 and 365 days of the year, including Christmas and New Year, so if you’re feeling nervous about an upcoming operation, have something that’s keeping you awake at night, or you have a question about your health, you can have peace of mind that there is always someone at the end of the phone to support you. We’re happy to help and be a listening ear when you need us most. Our core insurance policy as standard will cover things such as cancer treatment, subject to your medical history, and also diagnostic tests including CT, MRI and PET scans, but if you find that you would like additional cover we have a variety of options available to you. For example, if you choose to add the Extended Cover option to your insurance plan you can gain access to our Doctor@ Hand service, provided by Doctor Care Anywhere+. Doctor@Hand is an online, video or telephone consultation with a GP. The service is available 24/7 and 365 days a year, meaning that when you’re struggling to get an appointment with your GP you’ll be able to use one of your five consultations. So you can enjoy the festivities knowing that fast access to advice and prescriptions++ is available for you, at a time and place that is convenient for you. Another option you could choose to add to your insurance plan is our Therapies option, which gives you up to 10 outpatient sessions with a Physiotherapist, Acupuncturist, Homeopath, Osteopath or Chiropractor, should your GP, Specialist or one of our Working Body team members refer you for eligible treatment.
