Whitehall farce

AS A retired civil servant, may I suggest the following is included in Boris Johnson’s reform of the civil service. All promotions should be dealt with through a more rigorous selection process.

Put a stop to self-seeking political correctness. Bring in qualified people with relevant business experience to run departments. Then perhaps we will once again have a professional and capable civil service working in the best interests of the country.
