Sam’s the man... again!

TURNER’S THE TOP RACING TIPSTER FOR FOURTH TIME:

- By MARCUS TOWNEND Racing Correspondent

SAM TURNER ( Robin Goodfellow) has been crowned King of the National Newspaper tipsters once again.

Racemail’s ace yesterday lifted the National Press Challenge, organised by the Racing

Post, for the fourth time after outperforming his rival tipsters over the previous 12 months.

Hotshot Turner, who has unearthed gems such as Multellie, who scored at 25-1 at Carlisle in October, tipped more winners at a better strike rate than any of his national newspaper contemporaries.

His 2,653 winners was a massive 339 more than the tipster

The Guardian and 244 more than the struggling Scout in the Daily Express.

Grinding out winners on a daily basis, Turner cemented his reputation as Britain’s most consistent tipster and every morning the bookies make sure they check what he has tipped. David Stevens of Coral said: ‘We’d like to congratulate Sam on another National Press Challenge title, but it comes as no surprise. His record and reputation as a national newspaper tipster have been hard earned and are well deserved.

‘We wish him the best of luck in 2020 but hope it’s not too painful for us and our fellow bookmakers.’

Turner said: ‘It’s gratifying to win the title again. There is so much racing in Britain these days that it’s hard to keep on top of the form. That’s why you must have a system and maintaining my personal speed figures is key to my tipping. I hope they keep coming up trumps in 2020.’

Turner bowed out of 2019 in style when his well-backed nap selection, Urtheonethatiwant, bolted up at 4-1.
