- By George Odling

A SERIES of knife attacks across Britain tarnished New Year’s celebrations, including a triple stabbing at a house party in south London and a double stabbing in a Suffolk seaside resort.

While 2019 was one of the most violent years for London in modern history, no killings were reported in the capital overnight on December 31.

However, the Wild West Britain bloodshed continued elsewhere.

A man in his early twenties died in hospital after being stabbed in Milton Keynes just after 3.30pm on New Year’s Eve.

Three men aged 68, 42, and 32, and a 38year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of his murder. Detective Inspector

Dejan Avramovich, of Thames Valley Police, said he believed the victim and the offenders knew each other, and he appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Three teenagers, two aged 17 and one aged 18, were injured at the triple stabbing at a party in West Norwood, south London, after a fight broke out just after midnight.

Three people were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and the victims were taken to a south London hospital.

In Felixstowe, Suffolk, a 34-year-old man was arrested after two women, aged 33 and 44, were stabbed in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The 33-year-old was knifed in the stomach and was yesterday in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The 44-year-old suffered a shoulder injury and was released from hospital.

A man is fighting for his life after being knifed outside a pub in Salford, Manchester, in a fight during the early hours of yesterday morning.

The 24-year- old was stabbed just after 2am outside the Royal Sovereign pub, but was able to take himself to hospital. No arrests have been made.

There was also a stabbing in the village of Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, during the early hours of yesterday morning.

A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital and a 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Scotland Yard recorded 149 murders in 2019 up to 30 December – a ten-year high.
