WHAT TO WEAR THIS WEEKEND
CASHMERE CO-ORDS
A FRESH START
It’s January 2 and the party is officially over.
You’ve spent the past month dressing to impress with velvet, satin, sequins and uncomfortable shoes. Now’s the time to shove it all to the back of the wardrobe until the next special occasion, which hopefully isn’t a long way off.
there’s nowhere to go, nothing to do — it’s finally time to just relax. so, yes, in my opinion it’s totally fine to spend evenings and weekends in leisurewear for the foreseeable future, gorging on leftover chocolates in front of the tV and avoiding all non-essential movement.
And laziness doesn’t get more luxurious than when you do it in a cashmere co-ord.
AT ANY PRICE
Now, if my husband really loved me I’d have had olivia von Halle’s silk cashmere tracksuit waiting under the Christmas tree last month, regardless of the £995 price tag. selfishly, he has once again put food and utility bills ahead of my comfort.
Luckily, trusty old Marks & spencer has produced its own luxury leisurewear. the camel two-piece I’m wearing here is almost all the luxe for less than a quarter of the price, with trousers costing £59.50 and the jumper at £119.
It’s slouchy sartorial heaven, complete with a hood and elasticated waistband. oh, and it’s machine washable, which is something worth checking before you invest in cashmere.
A SNIP IN THE SALE
this outfit isn’t the only offering from the High street. Jigsaw and Jaeger have options in the sale, too — so move fast.
then there’s cashmere specialist Chinti & Parker, which has a pillarbox red design, and wyse London’s rainbow stripe on grey ( both pictured below), if you’re looking for something a little more exciting.
