YOU might think years of 4am wake-up calls and daily clashes with Piers Morgan would take their toll on a person.

But far from letting the stresses of life age her, Susanna Reid appears sprightlier and more youthful than ever before – and there’s footage to prove it.

The Good Morning Britain presenter and Mail columnist, 49, stunned fans by digging out a clip of her first BBC national news bulletin, which was broadcast 20 years ago.

Wearing a lilac jewel neck jacket and cropped haircut, Miss Reid, then aged 29, looks worlds away from her usual glamorous image. Sharing the clip alongside a current photograph on social media, the mother-of-three wrote: ‘Someone at TV Live unearthed my first national news bulletin on BBC TV. It was in May 2000 so there’s 20 years between these pictures.’ She joked: ‘Rocking the Playmobil hair.’

Fans were quick to compliment Miss Reid, with one asking if she has the ‘same disease as Benjamin Button’ – the movie character who suffers an ailment wherein he ages backwards – while the ever youthful Carol Vorderman, 59, added: ‘Love it sis.’ And Brexit Party MEP Alexandra Phillips mused: ‘Like a decent bottle of Bordeaux, you get better with age.’

Miss Reid’s current look is rather less demure, featuring more flattering fits and bold colours.

Last year she revealed she lost 1st 7lb after quitting snacks and alcohol, and now feels ‘fantastic’. But the presenter, who has sons Sam, 18, Jack, 16, and Finn, 15, has spoken of the struggles of remaining teetotal.

‘It was recently my birthday, and the cake baked lovingly by my mum was delicious and dinner with my family was delightful,’ she wrote in the Mail. ‘But how I long for alcoholsoaked nights at the Groucho Club in London, when no celebration was complete without a tray of shots at the end of the evening.’
