BELGIUM STAR MERTENS ON BLUES HITLIST

■ CHELSEA have made a late enquiry for Napoli forward Dries Mertens, 32. The Belgian is out of contract in June but Napoli want a replacement first plus around £6million. Chelsea are also braced for a late £20m offer from

BARCELONA for Willian. The Spaniards want a forward but talk of an £85m bid for Everton’s Richarlison was dismissed by the Goodison club. Chelsea face a fight to keep full back Tariq Lamptey, 19, too after BRIGHTON made a £6m approach. His contract expires this summer though Chelsea would be entitled to compensation. Lille are also interested in offering Lamptey a pre-contract.

■ CRYSTAL PALACE have agreed an £11m deal with West Brom for full back Nathan Ferguson. WEST BROM have spoken to Hull City over winger Kamil Grosicki and signed Callum Robinson on loan from Sheffield United.

■ ARSENAL have signed defender Pablo Mari from Flamengo and added Cedric Soares from Southampton. Mari, 26, is on loan for £4.2m with a view to a permanent deal. Soares will cost around £900,000 on loan with a summer option of a four-year deal.

■ NEWCASTLE appear to have won the race to sign Danny Rose from Tottenham for a £2m loan fee with an option to buy this summer. The England left-back was also wanted by Bournemouth but travelled to Tyneside last night.

■ BURNLEY are close to agreeing a deal for Bristol City’s Josh Brownhill as part of discussions to sell Nahki Wells to the Championship side.
