GRIEVING STAR BLASTS BBC

Ex-One Direction singer probed about family tragedies on live TV vows: I’ll never go on show again

- Daily Mail Reporter

Louis Tomlinson has said he will not appear on BBC Breakfast again after he was pressed to speak about the deaths of his mother and sister on the programme yesterday.

The former one Direction star, 28, accused presenters Dan Walker and Louise Minchin of ‘proper going in’ on him as he was questioned about his grief following their deaths.

Tomlinson lost his mother Johannah Deakin, 43, in 2016 shortly after the band went on hiatus and last year his sister Felicite, 18, died of an accidental drug overdose.

After the interview Tomlinson wrote on Twitter: ‘ Defo wont be going on there again.’

Walker tweeted in reply: ‘sorry you feel like that. it was nice to speak to you on BBC Breakfast this morning. Can i ask what you are upset about?’

in response Tomlinson said: ‘i was upset that you continued to ask me about my grief. it goes without saying how hard it is to lose both people so close to me.

The least i ask is that you respect my decision of not wanting to be asked in interviews about something so painful.’

During the show Miss Minchin also asked the 28-year-old about his ‘spat’ with former band member Zayn Malik, prompting him to say: ‘God, you’re proper going in here today aren’t you?’

He went on to say: ‘i’m just not ready to have that conversation yet and i think that is fair enough.’ When asked if one Direction would get back together Tomlinson answered: ‘You’ve ticked them all off now. You’ve gone trauma, Zayn, and now we are finally on this one.’

A BBC spokesman said: ‘We wanted to cover all aspects of Louis’s life that have influenced his new album and feel the questioning was fair.’
