-

LITON DAS made the highest score for Bangladesh in a one-day international as they wrapped up a 3-0 home series win over Zimbabwe. Das smashed 176 from 143 balls as Bangladesh made 322 for three from 43 overs and cruised to a 123-run victory. His partnership of 292 with fellow opener Tamim Iqbal was Bangladesh’s highest for any wicket in ODI cricket. Tamim had broken his own record for Bangladesh’s highest individual ODI score when he made 158 in the second game of the series, only for Das to surpass his mark three days later.

FALLON SHERROCK and Lisa Ashton both suffered first-round exits from darts’ Uk Open at Minehead. Sherrock (below) made history by becoming the first woman to win at the PDC World Championship last December, where she knocked out Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic, and has also competed in this year’s Premier League. However, Northern Ireland’s kyle Mckinstry — who reached the quarter-final of the 2019 BDO World Championship — breezed past the 25-year-old from Milton keynes, completing a 6-1 victory with a stunning 128 check-out. Earlier, Ashton had opened the afternoon session on the main stage, but was beaten 6-2 by Mike De Decker.

CATALANS DRAGONS prop Julian Bousquet has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him with the French Super League club until the end of 2023. Catalans coach Steve McNamara said: ‘Julian is entering the prime years of his career and his influence over the team is consistently growing.’
