Don’t take ANY chances! Hospital plea by mum, 39

- By Jake Hurfurt

A HEALTHY gym-goer who ended up in intensive care after catching coronavirus has warned Britons to take the deadly illness seriously.

Tara Jane Langston, 39, filmed herself in the intensive care unit where she urged Britons not to ‘take any chances’. The mother-of-two was rushed to hospital last Friday and tested positive for the virus on Sunday.

Coughing and struggling to breathe, Mrs Langston said: ‘I’m in the intensive care unit and I can’t breathe without this. I’m actually ten times better than I was before. I’ve lost count of the days.’

Mrs Langston, from northwest London, said she is now recovering from the virus. She added: ‘My body is fighting this – so once again don’t take any chances.’ She was seen by doctors 11 days ago when she felt ill after returning from Poland. At Hillingdon Hospital in west London she was diagnosed with a chest infection and given antibiotics.

However, last Friday she was rushed back to hospital in an ambulance before being diagnosed with pneumonia.

Her husband Richard, 34, said when the mother initially went to hospital she was not tested as they had not visited an atrisk country or come into contact with anyone who had the virus.

Days later, her condition had worsened. Mr Langston told MailOnline: ‘Tara goes to the gym all the time and has no underlying health conditions.

‘She’s out of intensive care now and is making good progress. We just want her back at home.’
