FOLK ROCKERS Mumford & Sons: Live From South Africa, 9pm, Pick

THE band toured South Africa in 2016, and this is a film of their Pretoria concert in front of 50,000 fans, with Marcus and co belting out I Will Wait and many more. They received a big welcome down there, and the film captures some of that.

CRIME SQUAD NCIS, 9pm, Fox

GIBBS (Mark Harmon) is fully focused on his team in tonight’s new episode, in which two of his agents end up in hospital — and one might not make it out. The case that follows leads the remaining squad to a wildly irresponsi­ble character who is so intentiona­lly irritating that he barely seems plausible. Can all be as it seems?

MURDER CASE Michael Peterson: Down The Back Staircase, 9pm, Sky Crime

SCI-FI DRAMA Tales From The Loop, Amazon Prime

AMAZON’S newnew, eighteight-part series tells stories of the strange effects of a mysterious research centre on a small U.S. town, and does so with a mix of gentle sci-fi magic and a bleak Scandinavi­an view of the human struggle. At its heart are the founder of the centre and his grandson (Jonathan Pryce and Duncan Joiner, pictured).

AMERICAN MUSIC Rich Hall’s Countrier Than You, 9.30pm, BBC4

THE acerbic comedian travels from Tennessee to Texas to show us the less familiar side of country music in this intriguing film, during which he ably demonstrat­es just how much variety there can be in one genre. ‘Cosmic’ and ‘redneck’ country are just two of the subdivisio­ns.
