It was supposed to give us a taste of what we’ll be missing out on this summer – like sport and live music.

But viewers of Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer seemed more interested in what was missing from Maya Jama’s outfit on Saturday. the 25- year- old presenter, who hosts the BBC1 show with the former England striker, garnered a lot of attention for the dangerously low- cut dress she wore for the latest episode.

One viewer tweeted: ‘Anyone else can’t take their eyes off what Maya Jama isn’t wearing on Peter Crouch Save Our Summer?’ Another wrote: ‘ Maya Jama [is] definitely saving my summer.’ Her name even became a ‘trending topic’ on twitter.

It comes as figures reveal the second episode of the six-part series had just two million viewers – nearly 300,000 less than its opening on June 6. the show, which includes live music, sports action and celebrity guests, was originally intended to be a postmatch series for the Euro 2020 football championships.

But with the event cancelled, the BBC said it wanted to give ‘the British public a little bit of all the big summer events that have been taken away.’

Miss Jama, who was a presenter on Radio 1 until last month, has revealed that it was the gun murder of her ‘first love’ when she was only 17 that spurred her on to pursue her tV dream. She said losing Rico Gordon in 2011 ‘gave me so much motivation to push with my career’.
