RICKY TOMLINSON and Ralf Little’s journey ends with a game of ‘walking football’ and the raising of a glass to the memory of their Royle Family colleague Caroline Aherne near the old Granada Studios. It’s a lovely moment and prompts other memories, such as the time Graham Norton once ignored Ricky in a lift.

A TIMELY repeat of this four-part series in which the historian David Olusoga lifts the lid on a largely forgotten part of the history of the British Isles — namely, the pivotal role played by black people through the centuries. Richly informative, fascinating and surprising.
