Britain is ‘Europe’s no1 target’ for Communist Party infiltration

CHINA has infiltrated Britain more successfully than it has other european countries, an expert warned last night.

Author Mareike Ohlberg, who has written about the underhand tactics of the country’s Communist Party, said attempts to groom leading figures in business and politics were at an advanced stage in the UK.

Miss Ohlberg, whose book hidden hand has been serialised by the Daily Mail, said: ‘There has been a tremendous amount of work in getting elites over to the CCP side.

‘To me, the UK has always stood out for the very advanced stage of elite capture compared to other european countries.’

Speaking at a virtual debate organised by the US embassy in London and think tank the henry Jackson Society, she also revealed the CCP had been offering jobs in Chinese firms to ex-British government workers.

Matthew henderson, of the henry Jackson Society and a former diplomat in China, added that Beijing ‘had locked on to the way the British establishment works’. he said: ‘It is replicating that. It has found vanities, it has found greed, it has found a sense of cosiness, people who like wearing funny robes and hats and free trips to China.’
