Defend free speech

hOW refreshing to read John humphrys’s defence of free speech (Mail). i only wish a few more people shared his moral courage in challenging those who seem to have universities, broadcasters, politicians and the arts in their thrall.

Bangor, Co. Down. AFtEr protests about ‘misgendering, film star halle Berry has dropped out of a trans role (Mail).

So the only role she can play is a 53-year- old hollywood actress as anything else would be dishonest and not meet the woke criteria.

Doubtless the wonderful robin Williams playing Mrs Doubtfire would now be a no-no and how would laurence Olivier have played henry v when he so obviously wasn’t?

the entertainment industry and acting as a profession will come to a complete stop if roles can only be played by people who actually are what they are portraying.

that said, i’d be grateful if you could pass on my name to a reputable casting agent. i’m available should a pensioner be required.

i don’t have any acting experience, but at least i would be authentic.
